1.    Celebration of the World Telecommunications Day (May 17)
 
 
The World Telecommunications Day was characterized by the participation of the most outstanding representatives of the Chilean and foreign telecommunications sector, of the Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, more than 400 attendants and the debate on the main subjects of the country’s technological agenda, an event jointly organized by País Digital, the Undersecretary of Telecommunications, and the Association of Digital Journalists of Latin America (Pedal), at the Cultural Center Palacio La Moneda; a Technological Fair was also placed on the Plaza de la Constitución.
 
 
2.    Chilean chapter for “Global Information Technology Report 2006”
 “Information and Communication Technologies in Chile: a story of great efforts and challenges”. World Economic Forum.

During the months of July and August, 2005 a wide research was performed inside Fundación País Digital, on the development of ITCs in Chile. The document was published in the 2006 WEF Annual Report, launched in February, in Geneva.

The article presented by País Digital received a satisfactory criticism by the economists of WEF, particularly by Augusto López-Claros, Chief Economist of the World Economic Forum.

The Chilean chapter was written by four directors of Fundación País Digital: Carlos Álvarez, Fernando Flores, Alejandro Foxley, Andrés Navarro and Constanza Capdevila.
 
 
3.        Presentation of País Digital Award

Annually, during the month of January, Fundación País Digital grants public gratitude to a natural person that, in the entity’s opinion has been outstanding regarding effective participation, and the diffusion of a real digital culture.
 
For this purpose, an Award Presentation was organized, with the attendance of the whole Board of Directors of FPD, personalities of the public, private and academic areas, apart from the media, to present the Award on this first occasion to Senator Fernando Flores.
 
 
 4.    Technological Tours 2006
In response to an invitation made by Autodesk, and by its CEO, Carol Bartz, FPD will organize together with this company a tour for 2006, with the participation of authorities, renowned businessmen and Chilean personalities, who will visit the symbolic places that currently dictate the technological and innovative standards in the United States.
