Civil engineer of the Catholic University of Chile; Master in Operational Research and Doctor in Economics-Engineering Systems at Stanford University. Current President of Sociedad de Fomento Fabril.
 
He has been appointed to several important governmental positions, such as Executive Secretary of the Energy National Commission, and Advisor to the Chilean Government in the coordination of a group of large scale projects, related to foreign investment in the areas of copper, lithium and natural gas.
 
President of several private companies: Gener S.A. (Chile), Central Puerto S.A. (Argentina), Empresa Eléctrica San Juan (Argentina), Chivor S.A: (Colombia), MEGA S.A. (USA). Former President of Telefónica CTC.
 
Advisor to the World Bank; member of the Technical Consulting Group for the Assistance Program in the Management of the Energy Sector (ESMAP). Member of the Council of Sociedad de Fomento Fabril, ICARE (Chilean Institute of Rational Management of Companies), the Upper National Council for Technological Development, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Universidad de la Serena, Universidad Finis Terrae, the Presidential Commission on Science, the administrative program of MBA of Loyola, and Universidad Alberto Hurtado.
 
He has a wide academic experience as Professor and Researcher in the subject of Systems Engineering, and as Development Director of the School of Engineering of the Catholic University of Chile.
