Economist of Universidad de Chile, he obtained a Master in Economics at Chicago University, United States. Current Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telmex in Chile.

 

He started his career at the National Planning Office. Later he was economic advisor of the Ministry of Finance, until he was appointed Head of the Studies Department at ODEPLAN.

 

In 1986 he entered the telecommunications area and, since then, he has held several positions as director, president and CEO. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Chilefilms and ENTEL, where he later assumed executive positions. Later he was the CEO of Invesco Internacional. In 1999 he was appointed President of Smartcom PCS.

 

In 2002 he joined Chilesat Corp. S.A. as CEO. In May, 2004 Telmex acquired the control of Chilesat, and he became Chairman of the Board of Directors of Telmex in Chile.
