Project led by the Ministry of Education, with the contribution of Fundación País Digital, aimed to ensure a basis of technological and pedagogic digital resources inside the classroom, from 1° to 4° grade. This is a support to the teaching and learning processes in the Language, Math, and Understanding of the Natural, Social and Cultural Environment sub-sectors en the Primary School First Cycle, according to the didactic proposals of the LEM and ECBI strategies of the Ministry of Education.

The infrastructure contribution for each classroom from the Ministry of Education consists in an ‘ITC in the Classroom’ kit, made of a portable, a multimedia projector, screen, and audio amplification system. Besides, digital contents especially developed for the project will be delivered, which are coherent with the Chilean curriculum and the MINEDUC orientations, and a technological and pedagogic advising for the optimal use of the resources delivered.

The role of Fundación País Digital in this project consists in advising the Ministry of Education in the design and development of a massification proposal to reach the classroom; to lead the development, assessment and distribution of the digital contents to be used in the project; and to design the pilot assessment model.

This year, ITC in the Classroom will be implemented in 3200 classrooms of 1° to 4° grade at municipal schools from the II to the X regions. The projection for 2010 is to complete 16,500 classrooms all along Chile.
